Global Language Services

Global Language Services Ltd , incorporated over 20 years ago. is a major Language Service Provider in Scotland with occasional successful forays over the Border. This life span reflects not only stamina but an ability to meet customers’ expectations. This has been achieved by its commitment to giving  value to its customers in the form of cost effective, reliable and professional provision of language services.

As a dedicated LSP the company has gained valuable experience in delivering interpreting services to a high standard and managing an extensive range of first class translation and transcription work for organisations in the public and private sectors, Gradually, as the LSP industry became more formalised,  contracts for this provision became standard especially in the public sector and Global Language Services Ltd became successful in gaining these awards. At  present the company holds contracts with the Scottish Government, Scottish Parliament, a number of local authorities and NHS Trusts and also has less formal agreements with commercial organisations.

Conference interpreting has its own requirements and standards and this activity has become a significant part of our offering. It is likely that our involvement and experience in this provision led to the company being recognised as the major provider of interpreting services at COPS 26 in Glasgow. Our team of qualified and experienced simultaneous interpreters is available for such work. We collaborate with a specialist provider of the relevant equipment, for which we arrange and manage the order from start to finish.   

Translation work has always been a major feature of our provision- in terms of cost and performance where we give priority to advising and agreeing with potential customers at all stages. Face-to-face interpreting is our fundamental activity but we have embraced willingly and successfully other remote provision – telephone and video work now on offer throughout the UK.
