Alston Bar & Beef

Alston Bar & Beef, named after the long forgotten main street of Grahamston village, is located underneath the Gordon Street entrance of Glasgow Central Station. Enter through the discreet door & follow the stairs down to Alston’s underground arches to a bar with Glasgow’s widest range of gin, each uniquely garnished & served to perfection.

Glaswegians are spoilt for choice when it comes to great places to eat & Alston raises the bar for meat lovers even further by serving the best steak the city has to offer. Choose from a selection of 28-35 day dry-aged steaks, including the porterhouse to share or Glasgow’s favourite, the fillet. All our Scotch beef is carefully chosen from accredited farms each renowned for producing quality beef, full of flavour & tenderness. A la carte is available 7 days with lunch and pre-theatre menus also on offer.

Offers… As well as an a la carte menu, Alston also has some additional menus available throughout the week that I’m really keen to promote to visitors to the city.

Lunch menu is only £15 and is available Wednesday - Saturday, from 12 – 3pm. We have a couple of Steak Frites options as well as an amazing Caesar salad, Mac & Cheese and many of your favourite dishes. Link to menus page

Pre-theatre menu is available every Monday – Friday from 3 – 6pm where 2 Courses are only £25, so you can squeeze in a lovely Alston meal after work or before you head out in Glasgow. Link to menus page

Sirloin Tueadays - Join us every Tuesday when you can enjoy two 250g sirloin steaks, Glasgow’s favourite cut of beef, served with 2 sides, 2 sauces and 2 glasses of house wine for only £65 per couple. View here

Chateau Thursdays - The weekend is definitely starting early. Enjoy Chateaubriand to share, with your choice of 2 sides, 2 sauces and a beautiful bottle of Australian Shiraz; the perfect partner for steak, for £75 View here
